Prayer After Miscarriage

prayer for the week after a miscarriage

FOR THE WEEK AFTER MISCARRIAGE

“Out of the depths I call to you, Lord;
Lord, hear my cry!”
(Ps 130:1–2)

God of mercy, hear our prayer.
From the depths of our grief, answer us.
Our hearts break at the loss of our child.
Our minds struggle to understand.
Just days ago we held the hope of new life.
We carried the joy of a child to raise.
Now death has taken what we love.
Sorrow darkens our days and steals our nights.
We cling to you in our grief, God of hope.
We entrust our baby to your mercy.
Help us to believe we will be with our child again one day.
Help us to trust in the promise of heaven.
In the name of your Son, we pray.
Amen.
