Here’s the big announcement I’ve been saving. (Coming in at a distant second after Benjamin’s birth, of course!)
In case you missed it in the brand-new Mothering Spirit newsletter, I have two new e-books available for you and yours:
Prayers for Pregnancy was born from the prayers that bring so many to Mothering Spirit.
I never expected how the prayers I wrote (when I couldn’t find pregnancy prayers that I loved) would resonate with readers, but it has been such a humbling gift to journey with expectant parents through their hopes and fears of welcoming a child.
I’ve always dreamed of writing a bigger book of prayers for pregnancy and birth, but I decided it was time to create something that could be shared right now with those of you who have asked for more resources for pregnancy. Now you can get all the prayers together – plus lots of brand-new additions – in one e-book!
This new collection of Prayers for Pregnancy includes:
- prayers for each month of pregnancy
- blessings for first-time moms, moms of many kids, and mothers of multiples
- special prayers for trying to conceive, facing unexpected complications, and calming anxiety during pregnancy
- Scripture verses for pregnancy to guide prayer and reflection
I also wanted to create something for birth preparation – a simple spiritual guide to getting ready to welcome a new baby. Writing this brand-new e-book was a labor of love during this pregnancy: a way to connect with my newest little one and to prepare for the work of labor and birth.
Birth is a powerful rite of passage and requires all our strength, no matter how it happens. So I wanted to honor this holy work with prayers and practices that support the spiritual side of birth.
This beautiful e-book of Prayers for Birth includes:
- prayers for before, during, and after birth – to guide moms through preparation, labor, and recovery
- Scripture passages on birth for prayer and reflection
- creative and practical ideas to prepare spiritually for what each stage of birth brings
- a special set of printable verses for labor
OR you can get the best deal: both books for one low price of $7.99. Prayers for Pregnancy and Prayers for Birth are available together here in a special combo set.
The perfect companion for pregnancy and birth.
I’ve been delighted to hear from readers who are already enjoying their copies. Drop me a note at firstname.lastname@example.org and let me know what you think!
And to answer a question I’ve gotten several times: yes, you can gift the e-books to friends or family. (Instructions can be found here, but basically you click the gift box icon on the email address line to enter someone else’s email and send with a gift message.)
A perfect baby shower gift!
. . .
Before we left for the hospital for Benjamin’s birth, I tucked my copy of the Prayers for Birth verses for labor in my bag. In each of my children’s births, there has been one image or prayer that kept me going through the hardest moments. This time it was do not be afraid, for I am with you (Isaiah 41:10).
My hope for these books of prayers is that they will offer to mothers the peace and presence that these verses promise.
To know that God walks with us into parenthood and never leaves our side.
