Believe it or not, I’ve had the Pope’s visit to the U.S. on the brain for over two years.
Back when Everyday Sacrament was only a twinkle in this writer’s eye, Liturgical Press invited me to consult with them about new materials they hoped to offer on marriage and family life for the World Meeting of Families (what brings Pope Francis to Philadelphia this week).
At the end of our meeting, I decided I would never get another chance like this.
So I prayed the quickest, quietest prayer for bravery (and tried not to throw up) and then said, “You know, I’ve actually been working on a manuscript that might fit what you’re looking for…”
(Which still feels like the craziest, boldest thing I’ve ever done.)
As luck would have it, the publisher liked the idea of a book on sacraments from the perspective of family life. So away we went!
Because the truth is that without what’s happening in Philly right now, Everyday Sacrament might still just be twinkling in my mind’s eye…
So in honor of the Pope’s arrival, here are 3 ways to celebrate:
1) Free book guide!
